B.C.’s Residential Construction Person of the Year Announced: David Podmore, CEO of Concert Properties
“The nominations we received for the fourth annual award were all outstanding, but David Podmore stood out to the judging panel as not only an exceptional industry leader, but a person of great integrity and vision,” said Scott Whitemarsh, Publisher and Editorial Director of BC Homes Magazine. “David’s track record of moving his company and the industry forward, along with his commitment to giving back to the community at large, were some of the reasons he was chosen as BC’s Residential Construction Person of the Year for 2010.”
“It sounds corny, but I’m please to be selected,” said David Podmore, chairman and CEO of Concert Properties. “I just love the residential development business. And, in B.C., we have the best industry in the country.”
Podmore will be honoured by his colleagues at an awards luncheon in Downtown Vancouver on April 8, 2011, venue to be announced.
Podmore is the first winner from Vancouver. Previous winners of the province-wide award have included Doug Wittal, of DW Builders in Kamloops; Doug Bromage, President of InSight Developments, in Nanaimo; and Tim Kasten of Hillside Contracting in Kamloops.BC Homes Magazine, to recognize excellence in the leadership of BC’s residential construction community, created the Residential Construction Person of the Year Award in 2007. The recipient is chosen for a combination of principled leadership, strategic thinking, unceasing pursuit of excellence and balanced workplace values. This award has a record of recognizing individuals who are shaping the economy of this province in innovative ways and who provide inspiration and insight to the residential construction industry.
